Goode Sawmill specializes in wide live-edge lumber from local Maine sources. We know every tree has a story, so we do more than just cut logs. We create beautiful, lasting pieces that embody the raw beauty of nature.
Before there were thoughts of a sawmill, the first log was pulled from a firewood pile, loaded into a work van, and made into a desk and an entryway bench. Now, there’s a mix of machines to process logs into furniture. Mostly old and often modified machinery. They have stories too, and if you get Alexander started on machines, he’ll tell you who had them before and what he’s done to them.
We are a direct sawmill supplier of live edge products, from raw slabs to finished items. Products are primarily custom-made to order: Dining tables, coffee tables, bed headboards, bar tops, and counters.
The Log Pile
I pick up logs for arborists at no charge.
Piles get big, and I must be careful because of storage limits. This pile, for example, is approaching the maximum pile size allowed by marriage.
